week 9/4- 9/7

Welcome to the 4th week of school.  This is a short week; Monday is Labor Day......ENJOY!!!
The year is off to a good start.  My students have settled in....some a little too much.  Please remind your child of the "Big 5" classroom rules.  Red cards have been going home more often than I would like.  When your child receives 5 red cards it is an automatic detention.  It is important for my students to stay quiet because they could miss important information.  Also when they are talking they are disturbing their classmates, both of which are unacceptable.  I would appreciate your support in this matter.  Thank you very much!

Friday, September 7, 2012 We are honored to have Bishop Ochoa say Mass for our school.  Please talk to your children about proper mass behavior.  They are to wear their full uniform- No shorts will be allowed.  This is also our Mother, Mary's birthday.  This will truly be a special day for our school.

Cupcake contest- For Mary's birthday - is Friday as well.  They can enter by baking 1 dozen cupcakes and decorating in a theme of choice ( examples OLM colors, Mary, Cross )

Friday is also a 12:30 dismissal Day

Sunday, August 19, 2012

The first week of school has gone very well.  Students are working very hard, however, there is a lot of talking and getting out of their seats.  Please remind your child that these behaviors will result in red cards.  My policy is that when your child receives 5 red cards in a week it is a detention.  Also when there is excessive talking, they will go home with more work to be finished.  Thank you for your support in this matter.

Option C should be set up soon.  You may be able to check your child's grades when it's set up.

I appreciate the parents who have been checking and signing the planner each night.  A quick reminder:  You sign the planner two times.  Once for the days work, and also for their nightly reading requirement.

This week we will begin reading with the preschool children in MS. Margie's class.  Please encourage your child to be a responsible citizen.  They are to be well behaved and respectful at all times, or they will not be able to participate in this fun service project.  Thank you.
