I know that the year is coming to a close, but please remind your child that we still have important work to do.  Some students are missing work.  If your child has missing work and does not get in turned in, they will not be able to attend the 8th grade carnival.  This is the policy.  I appreciate your support in this matter.  Thank you!

Reading- We will finish reading Esperanza Rising this week.  The students will begin working on a project for this book.  They may choose to do any project we have done this year or come up with something else- It is their choice on what to do.  The project is Due: May 13, 2013- They will present their project to the class.

We will have a busy week.  Wednesday, April 17 at 6:30 PM will be the Spring program.  I would like the students to be here by 6:15
PM at my classroom to get ready.  I am asking the students to wear bright colored or Hawaiian print shirts and jeans (any color).  If you have any  questions, please give me a call.

Friday, April 19, 2013 is our field trip to Mariposa!  I sent home a note Friday giving you all the last minute information that you need to know to be ready for the day.  If you have any questions, give me a call.  It will be a fun trip. Please note that their are a lot of parents going.  I am asking that some parents carpool.  Thanks!

Welcome Back!!! Hope everyone had a restful and fun break.  Now we are racing to the finish line with much left to do.  Please be sure to check your child's planner and the blog often for updates and/or changes that may occur.

We will be having a math test - fractions Ch 9, and an English test- adverbs on FRIDAY OF THIS WEEK.  We will review all week to be ready for the tests.  We will also have a spelling test on unit 25 on  FRIDAY as well.

It's almost spring, well it feels like spring is already here!  It's the beginning of the 4th quarter, and there is still much to do.  I have reminded the students that we still have many things to do and learn.  Please remind them to make each day count!  This week is conference week.   I am looking forward to sharing the progress that your child has made this year.  Also I will discuss things to focus on for the summer to have your child ready for fifth grade.  Don't forget that we have 12:30 dismissal all week for these conferences.  Please visit the book fair which is going on this week.
