This week is our fun trip to Mariposa!!! California history and Rocks and Minerals, YEAH!!!!
Maybe someone will strike it RICH!!!!  
An informational letter will go home Monday about the trip.

week of 3-28 to 4-1-2011

It was so great to see many of the 4th graders and their families at the OLM Fifties Night!!! It was so much fun!  

Thanks to all the parents who attended their child's parent-teacher conferences.  The second round of conferences are a great! This gives us time to discuss your child's academic and social growth throughout the year.  I am so proud of each one of their accomplishments!!!  GO 4TH GRADERS.  I will be very sad when this school year comes to an end.

conference week & book fair- 3-21 to 3-25

Hey 4th graders!!!! Our trip to the religious conference was awesome!! It was a great way rev up my faith!!! This is such a rewarding way to reconnect with God so I can pass that on to my students!


This week in conference week.12:30 Dismissal Tuesday- Friday.  Conferences in the spring are a great way to connect with parents to pass on information to help your child get ready for 5th grade.  Reminder:  each conference is 15 min. Being on time is essential.  A great way to make your child's conference successful, please come with questions you might have.  Conferences begin Tuesday and end on Friday.  Don't forget the book fair!!!! Please visit the book fair!!!!!!!!

Upcoming events/ tests:
  • We will be doing the Stations of the Cross will be this Friday.  Each child will participate in some way- No matter what- this is a rewarding event for you to attend.
  • Science test will be on Friday 3-25
  • English test will be on Thursday 3-24  
  • There will not be a spelling test this week due to conferences
  • April 14, 2011 will be our Mariposa field trip.  If you have not sent in the student gold panning fee of $4 and if you are attending parents need to pay $4 to go.  Thanks 
This week is 50's week.  Every morning there will be activities after morning prayer.  Saturday will be the Families 50's dance.  This is one of the most fun events to attend.  Please plan ahead so you can attend!!!!

*** Ask your child about our fun Kindness and Justice challenge.  It has been a very fun activity so far.  This challenge has encouraged them to go our of their way to be kind and to show justice- stand up for others.

Two Week Blog ! 3-7-2011 to 3-17-2011

THANK YOU, THANK YOU,THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! I REALLY APPRECIATE THE GENEROSITY OF THE SCHOOL BOARD AND PARENT CLUB FOR THE NEW COMPUTERS THAT WILL HELP REINFORCE THE UP-TO-DATE CONCEPTS THAT  WILL KEEP OUR STUDENT A STEP ABOVE THE REST!!! We will need parent drivers/ chaperones.  Also because of the full schedule that day, each person will need to bring a sack lunch.  That's all for now. week of 2-22 to 2-25

Hope everyone had a great three day weekend!  I sure did!  This is a short but busy week.  I wanted to thank all who helped at International Night, especially Granny Hoffart!!!!  Thanks to Claire Wright for the delicious shortbread cookies, I really enjoyed the lemon curd too! It was great that I had students dress in traditional kilts.  Our Scottish dance a real hit too!!!  All in all it was a great night!


DO YOU NEED PARENT VOLUNTEER HOURS???? WELL, I HAVE SOME TYPING TO DO.  THIS CAN BE DONE AT HOME.  I NEED TO HAVE WRITING SAMPLES TYPED SO THAT I CAN ENTER MY STUDENTS IN THE MERCED COUNTY WRITING FESTIVAL.  PLEASE SEE ME ASAP TO PICK UP WRITING SAMPLES TO TYPE AT HOME.  THANK YOU.

AS A REMINDER..... PER THE PARENT CONTRACT......WHEN YOU DRIVE OR ATTEND A FIELD TRIP, YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE UP TO TWO VOLUNTEER PARENT HOURS.

Feb. 14 to 18th 20011

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!  Don't forget free dress - Valentine's day colors: pink, purple, red , white etc., please!  We will have a little treat last period of the day.  Students will exchange their valentines at that time.

******* Don't forget---- Wed.Night from 6 to 8 PM is International Night!!! I would love for as many students to come to work the booth.  It will be great to show everyone how much we have learned about Scotland!!!!  If you Can make it,  Please come dressed in school uniform because whoever comes will perform our Scottish Highland fling for the crowd!!!!  FUN!!!!!

Week 2-8-2011 to 2-11-2011

I hope that everyone enjoyed their 3 day weekend....... I sure did!!!  There are a few reminders of what's coming up this week:
  • We will be having a religion quiz THURSDAY, Feb. 10.  They must memorize the Beatitudes for the quiz.
  • Spelling unit 17 test-FRIDAY
  • Math test is FRIDAY, Feb. 12. due to the difficulty of the new concept of double digit multiplication, I will have Math help on Tuesday and Wednesday after school this week.  We will just be working on math.
