Week 11-26 to 11-30

Hope your vacation and time spent with family and friends was wonderful!  We are going into the season of Advent where we will prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus.  As a class we will be preparing Jesus's manger.  Each time a student does a good deed for someone, they will add a piece of straw to the manger.  We know that doing things for others is a gift for Jesus.  Ask them about this great activity at home!

 Week 10-8 to 10-11

First Quarter has been a lot of work in progress.  Students have learned that they need to be responsible for many things.  They should be asking you each night to sign their planners.  Nightly it is to be signed three times.  One for doing practice on basic math facts, another for doing their nightly reading, and the third time is for checking the planner for the days events and assignments.  I appreciate your support in this matter.  I hope that clears up any confusion.
They are responsible for getting all work completed on time.  Any assignments that are not finish during the day, need to be completed that night.  Also, any other assignments deemed as homework needs to completed that night as well. This is why going over the planner WITH YOUR CHILD BEFORE YOU SIGN IT IS SO IMPORTANT!
They also need to be responsible in taking any letters or forms home that need your attention.  Please remind them or ask them if there is anything that was sent home.  You should not have to clean out your child's backpack.  Please help me by encouraging good habits; this will help them to become more responsible.

I really appreciate all you do to support your child in 4th grade!!! Our job is to get them ready for 5th grade and beyond!
